How did you get into your current job/field?

I was a professional hockey player playing in my last season a few years ago. I had always contemplated sales but wanted to get the proper training first. During my last season, I enrolled in Sandler sales training, and as fate would have it, my last season was cut short due to COVID.

I was lucky enough to land an interview from a referral of a mutual friend at Datadog as an SDR. One month into COVID I was cold-calling and emailing away. My main focus was to be a sponge, learn all I could, and outwork everybody! I learned quickly that I had a passion for sales development and was able to climb the ladder to my first Director role here at Octopus.

What's a fun fact about you that people may not know?

I have never chewed a piece of gum in my life. I don't have a phobia.....just doesn't appeal to me.

What is your favourite project you've worked on at Octopus Deploy so far?

I love getting in the trenches with my team and making cold calls, sending emails, prospecting, and finding solid info for account research.

Do you have any hobbies outside of work?

My wife and I just had our firstborn, a baby girl named Palmer. Family is my biggest hobby outside of work......and golf. I am a golf nut.

What excites you most about working at Octopus Deploy?

The effort from everyone! We have something really special in the works. I could brag about the culture and people here for days, but it's amazing to see everyone pulling the same rope from leadership down.

All teams are locked in on doing their part and helping others where they can. Everyone is so motivated, and it's contagious in the best way.

If you could eat one meal for the rest of forever - what would it be?

Sushi, every day and twice on Sundays.
